The Spinoza Problem is another brilliant teaching novel from Irvin Yalom. When I try to read philosophy, I always just end up looking at cat pictures on Reddit. Yalom distills the fundamental teachings of Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and now Spinoza into works of fiction that make them easier to understand and remember. The interwoven stories of the philosopher and the Nazi read like a thriller while advocating the power of reason and illuminating the dangers of ignoring it.
